Entry Level Testing Program

Wear the Badge. Join the Force.

CPCA’s entry level testing program is ready to launch. CPCA will be working in conjunction with PoliceApp.com on this Testing Program, which is a new initiative allowing entry-level police officer applicants to apply for multiple job openings with a single test and fee. This service is open to all CPCA member departments at no cost.  All test dates are listed on PoliceApp.com.  The tests are administered by the Daigle Law Group.

What is important to the candidates?

The value of this program will be directly proportional to the number of participating police departments. Therefore, CPCA is asking those departments that intend on using the program to confirm their commitment.

What does your department need to do to become part of this program?

To confirm your participation:

Please answer the following three questions and email your answers directly to Michael Quadrato: :

  1. Do you intend on using the program? (Y or N)
  2. Do you intend on using the list generated by this program within the next 6 months? (Y or N)
  3. In what month and year do you intend to announce your next recruitment process?

Please provide your contact information (contact person, title, email, phone).

Upon confirmation, PoliceApp.com will also send your department a service agreement that will be necessary for participation. Those departments confirming their participation will be included in CPCA / PoliceApp.com’s initial marketing efforts directed at the 25,000+ account holders onPoliceApp.com.

CPCA Entry Level Police Exam Validation Process

The entry level police exam used by CPCA was constructed by using a job task analysis.  Connecticut Chiefs of Police were surveyed to determine the knowledge, skills, abilities, and personal traits requisite for an entry level police officer.  The results were then computerized in a range of 5 (critical) down to 4 (not important).  A national literary search was then done for correlation purposes.  The Connecticut Police Academy curriculum was reviewed, and based on these facts the entry level test was created.
