Successful Officer Wellness Symposium

On October 4, 2023, CPCA held its annual Officer Wellness Symposium at Alexion Pharmaceuticals in New Haven.

This year’s event featured a presentation on nutrition from Rob Nevins of My Slim Nation, and two amazing presentations from Chief Brian Gould and the men and women of the Bristol Police Department Peer Support Team on leadership and peer support.

We are grateful to United States Attorney Vanessa Avery for her welcoming comments and steadfast support of Connecticut’s law enforcement officers.

Thanks also to our event sponsor, NorcomCT for always supporting our efforts.

The Officer Wellness Committee recognized 13 departments this year for their outstanding wellness programs with our “Serve Well, Be Well” Awards. Winners included Bristol PD, Watertown PD, Wilton PD, Plymouth PD, Groton Town PD, New London PD, Eastern Connecticut State University PD, Clinton PD, Torrington PD, Southern Connecticut State University PD, East Hartford PD, Ledyard PD, and Central Connecticut State University PD.

The CPCA and the Officer Wellness Committee recognize the many of impacts police work on the health and wellness of our officers, and we support the men and women of Connecticut law enforcement through advanced training, legislative action, program development and policy assistance. We are committed to keeping our officers safe and healthy “from hire to retire and beyond”.

Thanks to all who support our ongoing efforts.
